Silver The Hedgehog (シルバー・ザ・ヘッジホッグ - "Shirubā za Hejjihoggu") is a character from the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise, a white, telekinetic hedgehog with gold eyes, gold cuffs with cyan streaks cut through them on his wrists and on the top of his boots, which have heels and are dark blue save from a lighter blue tip and a white stripe along its length vertically, and a red colour just beneath his leg cuffs. He has cyan sigils on his hands, and his quills at the front are styled to represent a japanese maple leaf, with two large quills on the back of his head.
He had traveled two hundred years from the future back to the present to stop a creature known as Iblis from wreaking havoc on his world. Having fought Iblis for half of his life, he grew up in a post apocalyptic setting:

With his only companion being Blaze the Cat. Eventually, he was approached by Mephiles the Dark, who told him that Sonic The hedgehog was the "Iblis Trigger" - that being the person responsible for unleashing Iblis and destroying Silver's world. He believes Mephiles, showing one of his core characteristics: his naivety.
Personality
Silver is very honest and blunt with his words, showing a distinct attitude and a mischievous side to himself. The Chaotix often call him to wrangle with Charmy Bee, showing his obvious care and affection towards others, making him approachable by kids. In Japanese, Silver acts with mannerisms that are considered rude and informal, including pointing at people he's talking to, sitting with his legs crossed, or addressing others with "anta" (あんた) and himself with "ore" (おれ) - having grown up with Iblis as the only other soul in his vicinity, he never learnt societal customs that other characters seem to take for granted. However, these traits are never percieved by others as a reason to dislike him, and in fact make him endearing and outgoing.

Silver letting Charmy experience flying without having to flap his wings
Silver is a raging optimist, an embodiment of hope despite what his catchphrase says its no use, and shows a stubborn, almost self-flagellating refusal to give in. This, coupled with what little regard he has to pain, make hima formidable opponent. Silver possesses a very strong and dichotomous sense of justice, the very reason he travels to the past again and again to right the future. Growing up in an Iblis-threatened environment, Silver experienced loneliness for the majority of his life, and as such doesn't completely understand when people prefer to be alone. He is aware of his lack of social skills, and tends to try and put on a façade of bravado to be percieved as less awkward to be around.
Powers and Abilities
Silver has the power of telekinesis - the ability to move or physically manipulate an object with the mind - which is powered through his cuffs and the markings on his hands. The weight and size of the object being moved can be up to several times his own, and much of his attack style involves long rane projectiles, such as his meteor attack and the cars and scrap he throws in Sonic Generations.

Silver's Meteor Attack - Sonic Generations
In his Super form, this ability is heightened, giving him the precision to mainpulate things on a cellular level, such as in the Metal Virus Saga of IDW Sonic the Hedgehog, where he physically pulls all the nanobot bacteriophages from all the zombots and throws them collectively into a portal, off the planet, within seconds. He also is inclined to using his psychokinesis on himself, levitating in the air or flying around at speeds that rival Sonic himself. He also appears to be able to form a tangible object of his powers, such as a shields or blades, and can grab items without a corporeal form, such as fire or energy blasts. Although less proficient than Shadow, he can also use chaos emeralds to perform chaos control.
Aside from his telekinetic abilities, he shows adept physical prowess, being able to hold up his own against Sonic, withstanding several hits in his 2 boss fights from Sonic (2006) and Sonic Generations, and even surviving being buried under his own Meteor Attack in the latter game. He is shown to be able to manoveur easily through the air (with or without telekinetic aid), and can grind on Rails and spin dash. He has sharp reflexes and speed, and possesses a decent amount of physical strength, even if his preferred style of combat is long-distance.
Why I like Him
Silver's unwavering hope and optimism in nearly all circumstances were what first drew me to him in the first place... that and his weird ass quill hairstyle. I was first introduced to him in IDW Sonic the Hedgehog, where he is (to most peoples' chagrin) portrayed as a "cinnamon roll". I won't lie, he is cute! I do believe that he defeinitely has those qualities in him, but considering our first ever impression of him was him coming to the present with the goal of murdering our beloved Sonic, possibly our view of his personality is warped bevause of his difficult situation then. I might add though, I LOVE what he does in the DC crossover comics, yeah Silver you go get that bloodshed.
He struggles to find his place, unlike Sonic and Shadow, who have a very fixed and well-defined role in their teams; Silver often feels like he's aimless, a thought which gives him great anxiety (LIKE ME !!!), and this adds room for growth that is different to the other two - Sonic works his best as a static character, and Shadow's growth is revolved around his past.
