alr so theres this neocities website called sonicpc.neocities.org and its an arg (i hope it is lmao) and its pretty cool go check it out urself. or dont. i mean im gonna talk about it now anyways.

i mean technically this is gonna be spoilers so i would REALLY recommend looking at it first. PLEASE DO ITS SO COOL.

so when you first go in this is the home page. its pretty chill, talks about a fan project run by this guy called daniel mercer. theres a little intro to the game, then you have some descriptions of sonic, tails, knuckles, and eggman. then below this you have an info page, and finally an aboutme for daniel.

first things first, the descriptions for the characters is simple enough, but if you just catch it, youll realise that tails, knuckles and eggman are actually links, that lead to 3 separate pages.

Tails

hovering over tails (not the "miles prower" bit, just tails) and clicking will send you to forum.html, titled "What ever happened to Jamie Lepinski?" so now we got two names. chill.

so this is what it looks like. it looks to be a forum discussing cold cases, and OP says,

just so that sonicpc doesnt stop getting traffic bc im explaining everything, im just gonna go over briefly what the rest of it says: after someone trolls (average internet behaviour) someone else recognises the name and said she was found dead and the case was handled poorly and therefore was dropped. another person chimes in and gives us two more names of dead people, both who were close to jamie: kevin fernandez and jeremiah frazier. so thats 4 names we got.

now, as you can see in the ss, there is a navbar with a few links. all but one of these are unlinked to, that is, the last one. pressing "about the webmaster" takes us to poem.html.

as far as im aware, theres no hidden links as such, i did have a bit of a gander at the page source (IS THAT CHEATING?? Ssurely not you can hide so much in code...) and didnt see anything, though the fact the gifs called daniel was interesting... maybe the reason sonic doesnt have a link is because sonic is daniel? i mean im assuming knuckles and eggman are related to other people.

its also interesting that we can see 3 people in the background. as i was writing this i realised google had a "zoom out" feature on webpages so i zoomed out and got the biggest heart attack of my life seeing a fourth, significantly bigger man in the image. really jumpscared myself with that one.

joyful guy indeed. now, im inclined to believe these four people may be jamie, kevin, jeremiah and daniel. we know jamie is a woman so i think its safe to assume shes the farthest left person.

the poem itself i think is talking about someone who wants to feel alive again, i dont know i was never great at writing in school hah... though they did write "deperately" instead of desperately which i have no clue if its a typo or a clue i dont think so but you never know.

Knuckles

so now going to knuckles' page we get this:

that is, jeremiah.html. safe to assume this is talking about jeremiah frazier. of course, its not talking about much because its just an image of a suitcase and a black background, no clue what that is...

i was just fucking around when i accidentally highlighted something, so i hit cmd+A and guess what i saw... TEXT! BLACK TEXT!

specifically black text that says "whats in the suitcase?" "its a surprise." quite scary.

my new theory based on zero evidence is that jeremiah got stuffed in a suitcase. ami wrong? most likely. however, if im rigth that would be wicked asf.

Eggman

now eggmans name leads us to kevin.html.so therefore sonic is daniel, tails is jamie, knuckles is jeremiah, and eggman is kevin, just to keep up.

this page is titled "surprise" and the background is a moving tiled image of the suitcase from jeremiah.html, and that image in the middle had me stumped for a while because its so blurry. at first i thought maybe its a cropped version of the image from poem? but now im looking at it and i think the black line is a persons slit throat, bleeding out. tried the same trick as before, highlighting, still nothing. last ditch attempt, i check the page source, still nothing. i guess thats it?

ill be honest, its a pretty normal QnA. heres what it looks like:

the link is aboutme.htmlnow at first glance its normal. actually it IS normal. its a little description about daniel himself.

its completely chill, UNTIL you go back to the index page... that is to say what SHOULD be the index page, because instead of going to index.html, were taken to aHR0cHM6Ly9zb25pY3BjLm5lb2NpdGllcy5vcmcvcG9lbQ.html.

now i wish i could say my super smart mind saw the link and went "heh... base 64, perchance?" but really i didnt even know it was a different page until i saw "plans to foil sonic" which was a big fumble on my half. BUT i did eventually think of base64 so i pulled up one of those decryption websites and put it through... which gets us "https://sonicpc.neocities.org/poem". of course, we did already get this, BUT this does tell us that base64 is a method that is being used so we can try it if we find any other oddities.

comparing side by side, the only differences i can see are that it doesnt say "released in 1997" anymore as the year has been redacted, says the game contains 5 complete zones instead of 3, calls the framework a "horrific, action-packed retelling" instead of a "wonderful, action-packed adventure", the heroes are only Tails and Knuckles and the need to foil Sonic instead of Sonic Tails and Knuckles foiling Eggman.

Sonic's description is changed from "The blue blur! Sonic is always confident and ready to take on whatever danger lies ahead! So cool!" to "The brains of the team. s with his incredible talent!" which is actually a fractured version of Tails' original description.

Tails' description is changed from "The brains of the team. While Tails isn't the bravest, he makes up for this with his incredible mechanical talent!" to "Always empathetic."

Knuckles and Eggman's descriptions remain unchanged.

so then after looking at all this i decided to check out the other links to see if they had changed. all of the character links were the same, but this time info.html was replaced with aXNlZXlvdQ.html, which i checked the base64 for "iseeyou". creepy.

now, breaking out of the mystery mindset here to fangirl, this is possibly my favourite bit of the whole thing so far, and i would STRONGLY recommend you go to the link yourself for a bit before reading ahead. also i will confirm that this is a 100% safe site. i think.

so looking at the text now, the changes i can see are that now Merk's question is answered with "and possibly find some secrets if you know where to jeremiahfrazierfounddeadat27" instead of "if you know where to look...", James' question has the time period changed to "32 years, and 2 months" instead of "1 year and 8 months." which makes the new current date April 2026 instead of October 1995, and RT's answer changes from a discussion of Tails' mechanics to... a graphic description of someone beating up a woman in an alleyway and stuffing her in a trashcan filled with needles until she died. the trashcan bit probably tells you that this is jamies death. its also interesting that RT refers to Tails as she.

im just gonna interrupt myself to say i was just rereading what i wrote and i realised that in jeremiah.html the "its s surprise" line followed by kevin.html being titled surprised makes me take back my jeremiah in suitcase theory and rewrite it to be a kevin in suitcase theory and jeremiah asks about it. im pretty certain the person saying "its a surprise is none other than the man of the hour: daniel.

so then returning to the "homepage", pressing a link that says retract instead of return, i decided to look at the aboutme again.

the new link is aW1zb25pYw.html, decoded into "imsonic", which is fitting because the first line of this new page is infact "Hello. imsonic"

and what follows that is a paragraph of what looks like gibberish. it looks too orderly to be base64, so i tried a caesar cipher, only to have zero luck. i concluded that it wasnt a vignere cipher either because of the repeat O that was clearly an I. so i was stuck.

UNTIL I WASNT.

so a few years ago i was super into ciphers and i found this fun website calledsubsolver, a substitution cipher game that kept me entertained for embarassingly long back then. i remembered they had a "make your own" section, so i copy pasted the paragraph into it and started, well, solving. and heres what i got:

there is a small bit i wasnt able to crack, that i might re-paste and solve separately, but what i managed to get was:

[4 May 1952 20:02 GMT]: im gonna start dating updates because that was literally where i got upto when i started this page, but also i just realised the little decoded bit at the beginning was me accidentally pasting hello imsonic in it T-T and i feel like that middle bit is a substitution cipher but i jsut cant seem to get it...

i also found out that the little image that didnt load was actually a link, to 1995.html, titled "rise".

so what im getting is... it must be daniel who killed himself because all the others were killed by him, but when he killed himself he woke up as sonic? i mean, he does say "imsonic" a lot.

ok so i re-read forum.html... it says that he mysterious "4th person" aka daniel killed himself a month after he killed them, ive really gotta start reading more thoroughly...
